Summer is heating up but before the month of MARCH ends here is ALJEN ARANETA another magician who does street magic or close-up magic to add the heat to your summer, and oh yeah if ever you get to meet him in the streets don't hesitate to ask him to perform some magic :)

I do it to entertain people and myself and at the same time as a hobby because magic is one of the few things that people find difficult to understand.

Name's  ALJEN RAY COBILE ARANETA
he just turned 18 last february he does Close-Up Magic/Street Magic and he has been doing magic for 10 months now.

The tricks he mostly perform in the streets are: Subway, ARCA Transpo, Card to Mouth, Clipshift, and Portal. His best trick yet is the Clipshift.

Aljen says he practices tricks for a week or two before performing them out on the streets.
People like  Dan Buck, Dave Buck, Chris Brown, Chad Nelson, and Andrei Jikh inspire this young magician

Aljen performs magic with Thomas Pua, Bong Aballe, and Alel Hermoso whom he met waaaayyyy back ( i wonder how long it has been.LOL)

The thought of being able to make people's minds go crazy is what inspired me and it still keeping me going up until now.

ALJENS MESSAGE:

To all those who wanna learn magic and cardistry:
Grab a deck of cards, get inspired, and always be motivated.
Oh yeah, PRACTICE! If you stumble and fall, get back up because it's part of the learning process. PRACTICE. PRACTICE. PRACTICE.

FASHION EXTEREMETIES

Fashion is one of the most celebrated things in the world. It is one thing that many people can share to. Fashion speaks for itself; it has its own language. I don’t know how but people seem to understand why fashion is vastly changing, it’s like a natural intellect among us. It is a part of our culture and it is important to a lot of people.

LOUIS VUITTON
JIMMY CHOO
Fashion to a few is just fashion, to some it has become an obsession, to many it is a waste of money, but to most it is their ticket to fame and popularity. I don’t know what fashion has that it catches a lot of attention to people. I wonder, is it the signature brands that one chases after or the thought that I am in because o have this and that. Yes fashion is important but I don’t get why people are so obsessed to it, like why does a girl need a whole rack of shoes when she can have 2-3 pairs of shoes, I mean come on lets be practical, life is not just about fashion it’s about how you live it.

I always think that those who go crazy over a Jimmy Choo stiletto and a Louis Vuitton bag is just over the top. When you walk on the street the Jimmy Choo mark brand won’t be glued to your every step, so why waste money?

dolce and gabbana
Here’s another thing some people are too naïve to understand that there is no point of buying luxurious shoes because at some point in our lives it’s going to break or its going to be outdated. Like, when is everyone going to wake up that here are other things more important than fashion?

TRICKS or TREAT

Magic means different things to different people. For believers in the paranormal, for example, it refers to the manipulation of events, people, and objects through supernatural means to create a desired outcome. This type of magic may involve spells, rituals, charms, and other tools to alter the practitioner's environment. The word is also used to refer to tricks and sleight of hand which make it seem like things are appearing and disappearing, as though supernaturally. (http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-magic.htm)

Every time people hear the work magic they always think that it’s evil. They think that if you perform magic you are selling your soul to the devil, I don’t really know the answer to that but the magic I know doesn’t involve any evil in it, it’s simply for entertainment.  Just recently I was able to hang out with people who does magic and gladly I was able to be friends with them. These guys perform magic tricks and they are really good at what they do. In fact they have performed a lot of magic tricks to me and I’m always left dumbfounded every time they finish the trick, how do they do it? I always wonder how they do it and why they do it. Well I am always up for a treat but this time I am up for a treat for their tricks. I want to know why and how they do it. I wasn’t really sure if they just want to see people look dumbfounded after they perform or they just really do it to entertain people.   I was able to interview one of them and luckily he was kind enough to spare me some of his time.

       ·         His name is Gabriel Aballe and he does magic.

     ·         He performs a lot of tricks but he specializes on tricks that involve sleights

      ·         He’s been performing magic for 7 months now.

When asked what it takes to do magic, he simply says :
A lot of practice and patience.
·         Hes mentors are Aljen Araneta and Thomas Pua.

 Gabriels message:

For the people who want to learn this never give up because I know that comes to mind on the first try. Keep practicing and don't get discouraged if others are better than you cause remember that they all went through what you are now.

A SPOONFUL OF CRAZY PEOPLE I CALL MY FRIENDS

"True friends are always together in spirit."
---Lucy Maud Montgomery

It’s funny how I can relate to Ms. Montgomery’s quote. I always thought that friends are just, you know, friends because they have to be but I was totally wrong. Friends are there because they share with you your joy and sorrow.  Here, let me share to you my awesome story.

"LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST"

We are a group of five with 3 boys (Aljen, Gabriel,& Kent) and 2 girls (chloe & me)and we call ourselves “the GANG. Yes I know it sounds bizarre but that’s just how we roll. Our story is just another story if you don’t give much attention to it but I know you will. If there is a whirlwind romance then call ours a whirlwind friendship. Yes I know what you’re thinking, we became a group not so long ago.

"JUST GO WITH THE FLOW"

It all started at my brother’s wedding last December of 2010 where we met Aljen. Then here comes Gabriel, we met at an event where Chloe was doing her internship a day before Sinulog. Kent was the last one I got acquainted with and we met at a dessert house because of Aljen. About Chloe, I met her when i transferred at their school. Actually it was all thanks to Aljen that we met Gabriel and Kent, all three of them were friends. It was just lately that we have been hanging out a lot, like the day would cry if the group would not meet. I never really expected that the 5 of us would get along well in just a matter of time because I think it’s just not possible (so okay I was wrong again).

"ALWAYS THINK TWICE CAUSE YOU NEVER TAKE BACK THE THINGS YOU'VE SAID AND DONE"

A typical group would plan there hang-outs so that they can prepare what to bring and what to wear but our group is different because we don’t plan at all, it’s like everything happens right there and then. You don’t get to prepare on what to wear and what to bring, you just have to be mentally awake.  Like one time it was an early Sunday morning and Aljen and Kent was telling me to get ready because they will pick me up any time because we were going to Gabriel’s house, okay so that was totally unexpected but fun(hahaha). You think it’s fun? Wait till you hear more about what we do.

"IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF NO ONE WILL"

When we are together we don’t really plan about what we will be doing for that day we just wait for things to happen, that’s where the fun part is. When we’re not chilling in mud pies or Ayala or St.Pats or Mango we chill at Aljens crib and watch a movie or just talk. Most of the time we end up laughing so hard that our stomachs hurt and our jaws feel like it’s going to drop in the floor because someone cracked a silly joke or did a clumsy thing which turns out to be very funny. Even if it’s not funny, it’s just simply silly, we still laugh so hard because we just understand each other. It’s like we have built a connection among us that whatever we do we totally can relate to one another. It’s like we have known each other for years and we’ve been friends since forever.

"NEVER REGRET ANYTHING IN LIFE, BECAUSE AT ONE TIME IT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANTED"
Individually we are unique but together we are simply awesome. You might call us crazy but there’s more to us than just craziness. We are “the GANG”

Yes, true friends are always together in spirit even when you haven’t met them yet. Our friendship proves this quote.

when we're together that IGNITION song always completes our day

aljen's birthday

From a blogger's point of view

CHRISSY:
An online blog is not just something you share wholly. It's more than that. I've been a blogger for more than two years and I've met wonderful people online who became good friends of mine. I've met people who share the same interests, in music, fashion, books, etc.

The wonderful thing about blogging is that you share experiences with just anyone who reaches out to you in a matter of one click. You become a center of attraction, not because of how you look, but because of the wonderful stories you share.

My blog mostly centers around the random poems and stories I write on my free time.
I post them publicly but for my personal posts, I have the locked, which can only be viewed by my friends. It’s a pretty big advantage, considering I've always want to reach out as a writer, and the comments I get from my online friends, encourages me to write more and learn more.

You become a center of attraction, not because of how you look, but because of the wonderful stories you share.

-Jae Kim, Almost Lover

"You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes every day. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life so bad, work on the mind. That's the only thing you should be trying to control."
— Elizabeth Gilbert; Eat Pray Love

"Listen,' he said. 'It's important. We are all. Free. To do. Whatever. We want. To do."

How to for Blogging and Writing
top ▲ | add + | 0 comment(s) | @ 6:08 AM
Before anything else let’s first know what is a blog?

"Blog" is an abbreviated version of "weblog," which is a term used to describe web sites that maintain an ongoing chronicle of information. A blog features diary-type commentary and links to articles on other Web sites, usually presented as a list of entries in reverse chronological order. Blogs range from the personal to the political, and can focus on one narrow subject or a whole range of subjects. (http://codex.wordpress.org/Introduction_to_Blogging)
The above paragraph thoroughly explains what a blog is. Blogging, aside from social networks, is like one of the easiest way to share your thoughts or idea to online readers. All you have to do is write a story or a topic that you fancy, post it online and, voila! You gain a lot of readers depending on how and what you write. You are not only able to give information but you are also able to share your experience on a certain topic. Blogging doesn’t require any educational attainments as long as you know how to read, write, and use the computer then you can start blogging. Here are some tips if you want to start blogging:

BLOG SPOTTED: COFEE AND YOU ( learnings)

First, I chose Rachelle and Kimberly as my featured bloggers because their blog is almost the same as my blog which is about food and beverages only they focus on coffee alone. The heart of their blog is not only what coffee is about but the effects and importance of coffee to many people. These bloggers didn’t disappoint me as to gathering the points I need from them because not only did they answer my guide questions but they gave me more than what is needed. The points I wanted to learn from them were answered from the questions I asked them. The following are the points I wanted to learn from them:

·         What did they want to blog about?
·         Does their blog focus mainly on coffee or is their other twists?
·         What can they offer to their readers or followers as to referring on their blog entries?
·         What they can do to make non coffee drinkers read and start drinking coffee for a change.
·         What coffee shops they refer if one wants to have coffee.

They offer both the enjoyment and the empathy of the readers because they have entries that are experience-based.
